California
based wheel and tire distributor
Mizati
will begin opening wheel and tire rent to own locations this
year.
Mizati was founded in 2001 by CEO
Hazel Chu and has steadily grown its business to its 2006 level
of over $4 million in sales with a dealer network of 300 dealers
and distributors including nationally recognized outlets such as
America's Tire, Discount Tire, Firestone Tire Stores, and Les
Schwab Tire Centers.
The company says Rent to Own will
open a new chapter for the company.
Mizati spokeswoman Grace Wang was
enthusiastic in announcing this new business model, "The new RTO
program will be in addition to our existing business. Mizati has
continuously risen to the occasion to innovate and deliver
high-quality value-priced wheels that customers demand. By
entering the RTO market, the company will add new revenue
streams in addition to our organic growth." Ms. Wang continued,
"We started our research and planning on this relatively a year
ago when we observed that a portion of the customers borrowed
into credit card or other form of financing when purchasing a
set of wheels, which can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $3,500.
Upon careful observation and study of this market, we anticipate
the RTO model will allow us to serve a larger market base by
providing the option to pay wheels and tires off over time."
