U-GETCHA
CASH (UGC) represents a logical step for the RTO
professional to increase revenue and customer traffic within
existing or new RTO stores. And, it is a proven concept.
Currently, one of the largest and arguably most successful RTO
companies in the country has combined payday lending and related
services inside over 100 RTO stores and continues the practice
of offering their customer base the convenience of one-stop
shopping. They are allowing their consumer to effectively
respond to short term financial needs, cash checks and pay a
number of bills while capitalizing on increased sales
opportunities driven by additional new customers entering their
stores. They have proven that Rent to Own can and will continue
to evolve, and payday loans with or without other money service
products are going to be the new look within the industry.
Will viable long term demand for this business model continue?
Daniel J. Popeo, chairman of the Washington Legal Foundation,
noted that traditional banks exited the small loan market years
ago and thus are no longer an option for working families with
these needs. Yet those in financial crunches certainly can’t
afford to bounce a check with overdraft charges at banks
soaring. He goes on to say the payday loan industry is
experiencing rapid growth, clear evidence that consumers both
want and utilize this service.
A
Variety of Resources and Services
U Getcha Cash Inc. is an independently owned and managed
corporation comprising one of the four Premier Companies. Its
affiliation with Premier places UGC in a position to benefit
from the many years of successful franchising within the Premier
family. This unique position allows us the opportunity to offer
small business owners and operators availability and access to
resources and services including human resources professionals,
real estate brokers, marketing consultants, computer software
support, accounting consultants, employee benefits specialists
and the availability of a competitively priced health insurance
program. We are committed to assisting RTO operators and
companies outside the Premier family in implementing a training
program that stresses the importance of cross selling from one
product and company to another, taking full advantage of new and
existing customer traffic within the store.
Our program is designed to effectively take new dealers through
the initial steps of site selection, floor planning, licensing,
software and product training, legal requirements, and through
the development phases of construction and build-out, equipment
order and purchase, services ordering and implementation,
insurance and marketing material selection, culminating with a
grand opening. Training includes two days devoted to software
use and a minimum of three days prior to an open date devoted to
understanding and selling new products, risk analysis during the
approval process, auditing the business and other operational
procedures. We provide assistance during the store opening as
well as assist new dealers with monthly audits until they are
comfortable assessing critical components of their new product
and service. Franchise support includes semi-annual development
meetings and additional store visits throughout the year to
address owner or operator needs and to recognize positive
performance and franchise brand driven standards.
Staying Competitive
The concept of making several business concepts available to a
consumer base is not new. We see fast food chicken restaurants
beginning to offer pizza and deli sandwiches, with burger
companies offering chicken and fish. And, we now see an evolved
RTO concept offering the convenience of short term loans and a
number of other cash service products in a positive effort to
remain competitive. Adding a new product and service concept
within an existing business, then, is a sound business strategy
to increase revenues and to remain competitive within the RTO
industry.
I am excited to have closed the sale on the first two franchise
operations this year, with negotiations proceeding well on
several more. We are a new company with the predictable Premier
commitment of listening to and working with the franchise
dealer.

Purchase Franchisee, is branching into cash services by
adding U-Getcha Cash to his operation at the company’s
2006 National Convention in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. |
Scott Kinnear Branches Out with U Getcha
Having spent most of the last decade in Dayton, Ohio, RTO
veteran and Premier dealer Scott Kinnear knows his market and
the competition. He’s confident that "anything the competition
can do, we can do better." He feels this way because as a store
owner and affiliate of Premier Rental-Purchase he has access to
a wider selection of quality products and can react faster to
customer needs without the frustrating delays inherent in the
chain of command of a large corporation. In-tune and ready to
capitalize on a keen knowledge of his customers and their needs,
he is moving forward after a successful two years in business
for himself and branching out to bring the promising
opportunities of Premier’s newest company into his RTO store, U
Getcha Cash services. For him, this is a way not only to meet
the rising expectations of his customers but get a higher return
on the investment he has made in his business.
"We are growing," he said of his RTO operation. "Revenues are
increasing still after two years. U Getcha Cash came about
because I’ve always had a little bit of an interest in the
payday loan business and how it works. Premier’s Trooper Earle
approached me as being a potential franchisee in the newest
Premier venture, and I was all for it. U Getcha President Tom
Wurm has a lot of different insight into the cash services
industry. He has a different take on things and he’s been a big
help in getting me up to speed on how to run a store with cash
services and how to make it profitable."
Scott continues, "My expectations for my RTO have been met, and
I’ll be ready to go with U Getcha in the next several weeks."
