Rent-A-Center (NASDAQ:RCII) celebrated the opening of its 35th West
Virginia location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today. The 4,500 sq. ft. store is
located in Kingwood. Rent-A-Center is the worlds largest
rent-to-own company, operating more than 3,000 stores.
Store Manager Lisa Gronau transferred in from another
Rent-A-Center store in Fairmont, W.Va. She is joined by four
co-workers.
Rent-A-center encourages customers to ask questions regarding
rent-to-own agreements. "Although the rent-to-own concept is
extremely simple, we don't want our customers to have any
uncertainty about their agreements with us," said Randy Shriver,
district manager for Rent-A-Center.
Rent-A-Center contributed $2,000 in grants to two nonprofit
organizations at today's ceremony. A $1,000 grant is
being made to the Kingwood Public Library to purchase books,
DVDs and audio books to help people enhance their personal
finance knowledge and skills. Additionally, a $1,000 donation is
being provided to Food for Preston.
On a national level, Rent-A-Center has committed more than
$2.1 million in support of Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Boys and
Girls Club; Junior Achievement and Feeding America over a
four-year period.
