Gas truck
prices are going up, diesel trucks will be in short supply and
tax advantages are disappearing after the New Year. Those who
think they will need a truck soon, need to get rolling.
Michelle Dunning, Nalley Motor Trucks
Act now and save money. That is Michelle Dunning's mantra as
she prepares her customers to end 2008 on a strong note. Sales
Professional for Nalley Motor Trucks in Atlanta, Dunning says
however much it sounds like a cliché, it's true. "Act now! Gas
truck prices are going up, diesel trucks will be in short supply
and tax advantages are disappearing after the New Year. Those
who think they will need a truck soon, need to get rolling."
An RTO industry veteran, Dunning has provided trucks to
rental-purchase dealers for 15 years, specializing in the Isuzu
brand. By joining Nalley in June, she gained access to Hino,
International and Peterbilt and can provide a range of light-,
medium- and heavy-duty vehicles with a wide variety of body
styles including cargo vans and cab and chassis models for walk-throughs.
Although she enjoys having the ability to offer such a range
of products and styles, she is focusing on Isuzu trucks this
month as a favorite among her dealers for their comfort and
durability. She is making sure they know that Isuzu gas trucks
will cost 3.8% more after the first of the year. Those who order
before December 18 can keep the 2008 rate. She also cautions
that low diesel inventory and production will create shortages
in the first quarter. "Review your inventory and place your
order to be invoiced by December 31," she says.
According to Dunning, another reason to buy now is that the
stimulus package still is available on Isuzu trucks purchased
before the end of the year. Dealers will be able to write off
40% of vehicles purchased up to $100,000.
"It pays to take advantage of these opportunities to get a
great truck," says Dunning. "I hear over and over from dealers
how important their truck is to their business. They don't
always realize it when they are starting out, but it is the
backbone of an RTO business. Why not pay less for one while you
can!"
