New Age will now distribute Sharp LCD televisions, Blu-ray disc players and audio/video components in the California and Florida markets.

New Age Electronics announced has expanded its existing distribution agreement with Sharp Electronics Corporation. Under the terms of the agreement, New Age will now distribute Sharp LCD televisions, Blu-ray disc players and audio/video components in the California and Florida markets. New Age was already responsible for the distribution of Sharp home and office products throughout the Western United States.

Rent to own industry veteran Mike Bertolani was named National Account Manager Retail/Rental Division in February of this year (see story).

New Age will manage product inventory and provide direct distribution and support services to resellers from two regional warehouses located in Carson, California and Miami, Florida.

New Age will apply its vast product expertise to support Sharp and help retail customers maximize end-to-end fulfillment services that enhance processes and ensure cost savings are maximized.

New Age also offers retailers a full line of consumer technology accessories and peripherals that complement the Sharp product line and can be bundled or upsold at retail to add value, increase margins and drive revenues.

New Age said in a statement Wednesday, "Sharp Home Theater products bring movies, sporting events and every program to life. AQUOS high definition televisions deliver the perfect mix of elegance and performance in 26-inch to 65-inch screen sizes. Sharp front projectors offer bigger screen entertainment in light and portable models, and Sharp's audio systems and DVD players and recorders complete the ideal home theater system."

In June, New Age Electronics enjoyed a strong presence at the Heartland of America Regional RTO Trade Show in Lake Ozark, Mo. During the show, New Age announced that it is now distributing the ASUS Eee PC, a small and extremely light portable computer priced at $329 (see story).
