Rental PC Backup and Restore feature can restore used computers to rent-ready condition in thirty minutes.

PCRental Agent announced the addition of a Rental PC Backup and Restore feature designed specifically for rent-to-own dealers. The feature - now part of the standard PCRental Agent software package - can restore used computers to rent-ready condition in thirty minutes.

Before renting a new computer, many dealers install the latest Microsoft updates and security patches, and remove annoying trial software and make other customizations. When the computer comes back in off rent, all this work has to be re-done.

Experienced RTO dealers know that returning used computers to "rent-ready" condition can be a time-consuming headache. The problem is made worse by the fact that some budget-priced computers don't always have a built in manufacturers' "Restore".

The latest version of PCRental Agent now – at no additional cost - includes the ability to backup and restore a rental computer from a duplicate recovery image maintained on the machine's hard drive in addition to the original manufacturer's "Restore". When a computer comes back in off rent, Rent-to-Own dealers can simply restore from the PCRental Agent recovery image.

PCRental Agent reports its average rental store user saves 2 to 3 hours labor each time it reconditions a computer.

PCRental Agent is software – invisible to your customer - that allows you to lock down a computer and prevent it from being used. Once locked down, the computer cannot be restored or used until it is unlocked by you. If the customer fails to return, you can use the tracking information to aid recovery and locate the computer.
