versions of PC Rental Agent required installation from CDROM.
PCRental Agent, the RTO Industry's
leading developer of remote computer shutdown software,
announced today that the most recent version of PC Rental Agent
software is now available on USB thumb drive.
According to the company, prior versions of PC Rental Agent
required installation from CDROM. Today, however, many newer
computers don't come with a CDROM, so to solve that problem, the
company now provides a software tool which builds a USB
installer – the tool is available for download at
www.pcrentalagent.com.
Customers not wanting too build their own USB Installers can
also purchase a USB Installer directly from the company for only
$19.95.
 Ron Koller, from PCRental Agent, said "We see USB as the
future and eventually replacing CDROM's, so we saw a need to
start supporting USB drives. If the store is comfortable making
their own USB installer, they can easily do that. But for those
individuals uncomfortable making their own, we provide them with
a low-priced solution. Another nice feature of using the USB
Installer is it is faster than installing from a CD and it can
be updated - so PC Rental Agent customers using a USB can ensure
they always have the latest up-to-date version of our software."
PCRental
Agent is software that allows you to remotely lockdown a rented
computer. Once locked down, the computer cannot be restored or
used until it is unlocked. In the case of a skip, rent-to-own
dealers can use the tracking information provided by PCRental
Agent to aid in recovery.
