These new pricing methods were recent custom requests from new
users, and because RTO Pro is Windows-based, we were able to add
them literally in less than 2 days.
Ron Ganus, President, RTO Pro Software
On the heels of last week's release of its new version 5.2.183 (see
story), RTO Pro Software,
a leading point-of-sale and business management software package
for the rent-to-own industry,
today announced the addition of two new pricing methods. Users
now have three ways to price inventory within the RTO Pro
system:
1. Category Markup – RTO Pro's original pricing method.
RTO Pro will calculate an item's rate based on its inventory
category's user-defined turn (multiple) of the item's cost. For example:
In the appliance category a user might set the turn at 2.5x
cost for a 12 month agreement or 3x cost on an 18 month
agreement.
2. New! -Total Contract
Calculation - Users can enter the total contract amount over
the entire term of the agreement and RTO PRO will automatically
calculate the rental rate by dividing the contract total by
the number of rental/renewal payments. For example: If the user wants to
return a
total of $1000 for an item on a weekly 18 month agreement, RTO
pro will divide $1000 by 72 for the $13.89 weekly rate.
3. New!-Individual Table-Based
Pricing - RTO Pro now allows users to match up to six specific
weekly and monthly rental rates to the number of payments for any
individual item. For example: On an individual item, users can
enter into the table:
| # Months |
Monthly $ |
# Weeks |
Weekly $ |
| 12 |
$60 |
52 |
$15.95 |
| 24 |
$40 |
104 |
$10.95 |
"With over 800 rent-to-own users now, we get a lot of requests," says
Ron Ganus, former RTO store
owner and President of RTO Pro Software. "These new pricing methods were recent custom requests from new
users, and because RTO Pro is Windows-based, we were able to add
them literally in less than 2 days."
"That's one of the benefits of developing in Windows ," Ganus
explained. "Development goes much faster than the same project
in older platforms like DOS or Unix and that translates into
another big benefit – savings, which RTO Pro can pass directly
to its end-users as lower costs."
In the last year alone, RTO Pro Software has added over 250 new
features and enhancements including:
- Integrated ACH for accepting recurring electronic payments
- Integrated recurring credit card billing
- Automated Collections Module – The ACM automatically calls
overdue or active customers and plays pre-recorded delinquency
or promotional messages ($399 extra charge)
- Integrated emailing of invoices, overdue notices and form
letters
- A new export to Quicken and other accounting programs
- Price Quotes for potential new customers
- MAP- IT feature prints Google or Yahoo Maps to customers'
locations from the payment, customer inquiry, new rental and
delivery/pickup screens
- Multiple-state sales tax zones
- Destination-based sales tax
- Default scanned images now appear on payment screen (Use for
drivers licenses and applications)
