The Canadian Salvation Army National Recycling Operations announced today that they are near completion of a substantial donation from Canada's largest rent-to-own company easyhome Ltd., of Edmonton, Alberta.

The donation to date represents over $300,000 of product to be available immediately at participating Thrift Stores across Canada. The donation is being made available exclusively to The Salvation Army Thrift Stores at Thrift Store prices in order to help raise proceeds for the charity.

Although this effort has been in the works for several months, the timing couldn't be better says Thrift Stores National Managing Director John Kershaw. "The recent devastation to the financial markets has already shown a negative impact to retailers everywhere; charitable retailers in particular whom are dependent on donations may be the hardest hit in the months to come, and this donation from easyhome Ltd. is a tremendous gift to our organization," said Kershaw.
