Steven Dwyer has owned companies
his entire business career, but he's a novice in the rent-to-own
business. His new ColorTyme
store, grand-opening on Sept. 18 in Waterbury, Conn., is one of
three he plans to open within the next four years.
"After I sold my insurance business I researched the franchise
opportunities in a variety of industries," Dwyer said. "The
rent-to-own business kept coming out as the best fit for me and
my goals, so I talked and met with several national RTO
franchisors, narrowed the field to two, and was approved by both
companies. Then I went out to actually visit stores and
interview franchisees in several states.
"All in all, ColorTyme was my most attractive option," Dwyer
said. "ColorTyme is much more flexible in its offering to new
franchisees, and the company is allowing me to plan my growth in
the areas that are the best fit for me."
ColorTyme CEO Bob Bloom said, "Steve is an invigorating addition
to the ColorTyme family. He has the right attitude and
perspective on customer service for the RTO business and for
ColorTyme. We expect him to be a success in his new Waterbury
store, and beyond."
Dwyer said he plans to be a solid contributor to his community.
"I've been working closely with Waterbury's Economic Development
office, and I have great plans for this area and for my
customers," Dwyer says.
ColorTyme, the oldest franchised rent-to-own company in the
United States, operates 214 stores in 34 states. RimTyme, the
company's custom-wheel-and-tire franchise brand, operates an
additional 15 stores in seven states.
